Overview
A BTC-backed line of credit taken from zero to a live MVP: borrower portal, admin servicing portal, and a custom application flow, all built on an extended version of the PayPlan design system.
What I owned
Founding product designer on a 0→1 build. UX, UI, and interaction across all three interfaces, bridging engineering and compliance, in collaboration with the developers and the business founder.

Concept to live MVP
01 — Background & Problem
No product, and no trust to build on
For the lender, starting from scratch with no product yet. The PayPlan design system had never produced anything for BTC, and there were no automated triggers for client communications.
Both sides were operating without a foundation: the lender had no product or automated communication system, and customers lacked confidence in emerging crypto lenders. The result was a fragile, trust-poor lending environment with no clear visibility or reliability.

02 — Goals
What the product had to do
1.
Design the custom application flow, customer portal, and admin portal.
2.
Build an intuitive, trustworthy flow for customers to apply through.
3.
Connect the admin and customer experiences through shared data.

03 — Design Process
From volatile problem to predictable flow
Four phases: stake, study, layout, prove.
Borrowers won’t act on a loan they don’t trust, and BTC moves faster than they can.

04 — Design System
Extending an existing system for crypto lending
Rather than start over, I extended the existing PayPlan design system. That simplified development and gave an MVP to market faster, while adding new lending modules.

The crypto components added to the PayPlan system.
The crypto components I added to the PayPlan system, including wallet connect, a work-in-progress tab, and an improved mobile dashboard, helped Business Warrior pitch and win more crypto lending bids, opening a new market for the company.
06 — Systems Thinking
Four systems feeding one BTC loan product
The product was designed as four extensible systems feeding a single source of truth, so it adapts and scales rather than being rebuilt per client.

05 — Core Product Modules
Four modules across three interfaces
Each with the insight behind it and the impact it delivered.
01 — Customer Portal
Borrowers primarily interacted with their loan on mobile and needed instant clarity during BTC volatility. Impact: a mobile-first portal that surfaces loan health at a glance, increasing confidence and reducing friction.

02 — Work-in-Progress Statuses & Data-Entry Modals
Support teams needed immediate visibility into which accounts required action during servicing. Impact: status-driven account cards and a prioritized WIP queue that streamlined admin workflows.

03 — Customer Actions in Portal
Open credit lines require flexibility without overwhelming users. Impact: actions centralized into contextual flows that preserved orientation and trust.

04 — Close-Account UX
Account closure is a high-risk moment where clarity and correctness are critical. Impact: adaptive close-account flows that guide users safely through liquidation when required.

08 — Reflection
Designing for volatility
Designing a crypto credit product taught me how to create clarity and trust in environments defined by volatility. It pushed me to design systems that stay predictable even when the underlying asset is not.
